The Maiden's Tower, one of the historical stops of the city, is one of the places that everyone wants to see when coming to Istanbul. It is estimated that the tower was built 2500 years ago. The rocks on which the tower is located were first mentioned in 410 BC. It is stated that the island was used by the Athenians to control the ship traffic in the Bosphorus.
During the Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman periods, the island was used for surveillance and base purposes and various towers were built. During the Republican period, the building was used by the military to control sea traffic and underwent various renovations. Today, after the restoration process in 1995, it has been welcoming visitors since 2000 and serves as a restaurant. Various organizations are organized in the tower.
Maiden's Tower is among the must-see places with its very old history. It is also a place where you can go to have experiences such as a marriage proposal or dinner in a different environment. Even if you don't go to the tower, you can have a drink by the sunset on the beach and enjoy the view.

The church, which was first built by Emperor Constantius in 360, was later built in 415 and then by Emperor Justinian I in 537. In 1453, after Fatih Sultan Mehmed Khan conquered Istanbul, the building started to be used as a mosque and is one of the most important heritages not only of our country but also of the world. After it was converted into a mosque, a minaret was added to the building by Mimar Sinan. At various times during the Ottoman period, various additions were made to make the church feel like a mosque.

As a result of the decision taken by the Council of Ministers, the building was opened to visitors as a museum on February 1, 1935.
